Cognizant maze ransom software has been used to protect the network from a newly discovered Worm. Worms can be sent through email attachments, websites, instant messengers, and gaming systems. A worm can be programmed to perform any number of malicious tasks including executing commands on infected machines, stealing data, broadcasting pop-up ads, and in some cases even crashing systems. While worms may not be the most interesting subject to discuss, they are becoming one of the most prolific and harmful viruses that currently resides on the internet. In this Worm Explained, we will discuss the origins of the Worm and exactly how it can be stopped.
A relatively new browser virus known as Middle Earth Virus has been circulating the web recently. The worm spreads using security vulnerabilities found in Microsoft Word and the Windows operating system. It first appeared online in April and quickly gained momentum as a tool for gaining illicit access to password protected accounts on Yahoo, Facebook, and MySpace. The latest strain of ransomware attacks Windows and has infected over 200 computers around the world in the last week alone.
A separate network from the corporate network was compromised by the malware within an infected employee’s USB drive. This has led to multiple denial of service attacks against multiple important companies including the likes of Avaya, SharePoint, Microsoft, and Citrix among others. A network administrator at one of these companies contacted a computer consulting firm who specializes in Internet and computer security. He was advised to take “all actions” against the Worm and would begin “AT&T VPN enforcement against the exploited executable files”.
The network administrator was unable to obtain any protection from the worm in his firewall or any other means. His only means of defense was to contact a specialist antivirus company who specializes in networks and firewall protection. The worm dropped into the internal network using a password stolen from one of the affected employees.
A malware researcher from Microsoft once identified the same executable files that had been used in the worm attack. They too were unsuccessful in removing the worm from their firewall. This is just one of the many corporations that have fallen victim to the malware and a large number of IT professionals are now looking for professional assistance. This is not the first time that a major corporation has fallen victim to theansomware. It has affected numerous companies in the IT industry.
The company had also contracted a highly experienced hacker with years of experience in getting access to critical corporate data. After trying every possible method to stop the worm from infecting their machines, the IT team finally decided to look for a highly effective way to defend their machines against the attack. They were not able to locate anything that stopped the Maze Ramsay in its tracks. However they were able to stop the attacks by deploying a number of measures which were able to prevent other viruses from attacking your machine.
One of the measures employed was to disable the internal virus protection mechanism on the affected machines. By disabling the internal virus protection mechanism an enterprise can ensure that they are not going to be victimized by the malware on a massive scale. They can then block all the external threats that are made by the malware. Not only will disable the internal virus protection mechanism to stop the attack, it will also stop the spread of the worm from within. This will make it easier for the IT personnel and the companies which have fallen victim to the malware to contain and recover the system and protect them from any future attack.
One of the things that has made the worm become so virulent is the use of RANS operating system. The malware has been found to spread through this network in a manner where it can spread rapidly. It has been found that the worm has been able to penetrate the firewall and spread through a number of computers within a large company’s infrastructure. One of the most commonly stolen computers within the Gotham City corporate structure has been infected with the worm, which is believed to have been responsible for the disastrous breach. We believe that if the worm had been properly removed and not allowed to propagate that the internal firewall would have prevented the worm from propagating to other machines.
